Detox Trading is a family run business founded in 2007 by Amida Harvey, and is now co-owned with Amida’s son & daughter, James and Sophia.
Detox Trading grew out of Amida’s passion for health and wellbeing. He noticed a real need for quality, versatile and affordable superfoods that were not previously available to buy online. The first product in the store was the humble hemp seed, which was a favourite for Amida and one that he used daily for making hemp milk. Since then it has evolved to offer over 150+ amazing superfood products, most of which are certified organic with the UK’s Soil Association.

About Amida
Amida has always been interested in health foods, from one of his first jobs at the original ‘Harvest’ wholefood shop in Bath in the late 1970’s, to running his own shop called ‘Natures Store’ in Dorset to co-founding the fasting retreat company Sura Detox. His comprehensive understanding of top quality superfoods and how they can improve your life means he is able to source a vast range of products to benefit everyone.
Away from work, Amida lives near Totnes, Devon. The other big love in life is landscape photography and you can often find him and his camera taking walks on Dartmoor.
About James
Before joining the family business James worked for 7 years in the wine industry. His experience lies in running a super efficient and organised business, dealing with huge quantity’s of stock and managing a team of staff. You will also find James behind the camera in our Detox Bites videos, directing, filming and editing each video.
James works mostly from home in Frome , where he lives with his partner and their daughter. James’s big passions are videography, coffee and baseball. He also runs his own videography YouTube channel, check out Harv Video/Audio for more from him.
About Sophia
You may have already seen Sophia starring in our YouTube video’s (and if not, do check them out here). Sophia started working in Detox Trading in 2013. Sophia has inherited her Dads passion for health and has studied Nutritional Healing to further her knowledge on the subject.
Sophia also lives near Totnes with her husband and two children. Outside the office Sophia can often be found in the kitchen creating delicious vegan/veggie recipes, at the beach or playing the piano (or trying to learn).
